Campus-Wide Signage
This project will respond holistically to new construction, renovation, and site improvement efforts funded by the Measure X Bond Programs on the Evergreen Valley College campus.
Project outcomes include promoting accessibility on campus by providing strong and intuitive wayfinding solutions for Students and Visitors in coordination with the campus accessibility transition plan, promoting the safety and well-being of students on campus by reassigning existing parking lot numbers with enhanced logical sequencing to promote clear communication with Campus Police Department, and application of a cohesive sign program across campus.

February 2024
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Phase II / III: A contract was issued, and procurement is underway. Shop drawings are in review. Schedule coordination was completed.
Next Month’s Milestones: Phase II/III: Submittals, product sample reviews, and installation schedule approval are anticipated.
January 2024
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Phase II / III: The project contract was issued, and procurement is underway. Shop drawings are in review. Schedule coordination was completed.

December 2023
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Phase II / III: A contract was issued and procurement is underway.
Next Month’s Milestones: Phase II/III: Submittals and product sample reviews are expected, along with installation schedule approval.
November 2023
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Phase II / III: Project bids were received. A Notice of Intent to Award was presented to the November Board.
Next Month’s Milestones: Phase II/III: Notice to Proceed issuance is expected for December, followed by the commencement of contract procurement. A preliminary construction schedule review is expected for January.
October 2023
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Phases II and III: Project bids were received. A Notice of Intent to Award was prepared for the November Board meeting. A Notice to Proceed was prepared for November 15, 2023.
Next Month’s Milestones: Phases II and III: The Notice to Proceed will be issued. Contract procurement is anticipated. A preliminary construction schedule will be reviewed.
September 2023
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Phases II and III: Project re-bid is underway. The project is being re-bid as two projects, combined into a single project, with two scopes of work and separate pricing. The mandatory bid walk and review meeting were completed. Addendums are being issued to address questions.
Next Month’s Milestones: Phases II and III: Bids are due 10/17/2023 at 2 p.m. The apparent successful contractor will be reviewed post-bid, and a Notice of Intent to Award is anticipated. The Board review will be in November.
August 2023
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Phase II: The contractor was terminated for non-performance. Re-bid documents were prepared and completed. Public advertisement and bid notification were published. Emergency ADA signage was installed. Phase III: Bid documents were published with Phase II. The projects will be bid together but as separate projects. A mandatory bid walk was completed, with bid addendums anticipated.
Next Month’s Milestones: Phase II: Bid activities will continue. Phase III: Bid activities will continue.
July 2023
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Phase II: Preparation for re-bidding is underway due to the termination of the phase II contractor. Phase III: Design was completed. Re-bidding is underway, and phase III will be added to the phase II bid as separate scope and pricing.
Next Month’s Milestones: Phase II: Bidding activities will continue. Phase III: Bidding activities will continue.
June 2023
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Phase I: The project was completed. Phase II: Material procurement is ongoing. Site preparation is underway for monument signage. Interior sign installation was scheduled for mid to late July. Phase III: Design was completed. Bid advertisement was issued. Preparation of design and bid documentation is underway. A public-private partnership (P3) bid walk was scheduled for late July.
Next Month’s Milestones: Phase I: Allowance reconciliation is expected. Phase II: Visual Arts and Performing Arts signage installation will be completed. Monument signage is expected to be completed. Phase III: 100% of the construction drawing plans and specifications will be completed.
May 2023
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Phase I: A punch list correction review was completed. Phase II: Material procurement is ongoing. Layout preparation is underway for the Parking Lot 6 monument sign. Phase III: The Wayfinding Strategy and remaining open design item review meeting was rescheduled to May due to conflicts with the College's availability. Ross +Luthin continued to develop the construction documentation set.
Next Month’s Milestones: Phase I: Closeout is expected. Phase II: Visual Arts and Performing Arts signage installation will commence. Monument signage will be completed. Phase III: A complete review of 100% CD plans will be carried out.
April 2023

Phase III: The bond team provided comments on the design development set submitted by Ross+Luthin. Phase III: 50% of construction drawing and cost estimate were received.

Past Month’s Accomplishments: Phase I: Vehicular signage installation was completed. Phase II: Construction procurement efforts to commence December 2022. Phase III: Ross+Luthin submitted the schematic design set to the College for review and initial marketing banner designs were presented to the College.

October 2022
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Phase I: Vehicular signage installation was completed. Phase II: The final revised 100% construction documentation set was submitted to the bond team for final review and sign-off. Ross+Luthin Creative received a Design Notice to Proceed into Design Package #3. Phase III: Ross+Luthin continued site surveys and data analysis of findings.
Next Month’s Milestones: Phase I: Directory vinyl and punch walk will be completed. Phase II: Construction procurement efforts will commence in December 2022. Phase III: Ross+Luthin will conclude site walks and data analyzation efforts. The schematic design set will be submitted to the College for review.
September 2022
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Phase I: Wayfinding and identification signage installation was completed. Phase II: Ross+Luthin submitted the revised 100% construction documentation set. Comments were returned to Ross+Luthin by the College. Phase III: The Phase Initiation meeting took place to formally kick-off Plan/Survey activities. Site surveys began.
Next Month’s Milestones: Phase I: Directory vinyl and punch walk will be completed. Phase II: The final revised 100% construction documentation set will be submitted to the bond team for final review and sign-off. Ross+Luthin Creative will receive a Design Notice to Proceed into Design Package #3. Phase III: Ross+Luthin will continue site survey activities and data analyzation.

April 2022
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Phase I: Contract was awarded to A Good Sign and Graphics. NTP provided 4/22/2022. Phase II: Ross+Luthin Creative submitted the schematic design set and comments were returned.
Next Month’s Milestones: Phase I: Submittals and review will be completed. Phase II: The design development set will be submitted for review. Concepts for new sign types will be presented to the College for review.
March 2022
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Ross+Luthin Creative submitted the Phase I 100% Construction Documentation set for release in the final addenda for bidders. The Phase I bid period closed on PlanetBids. Ross+Luthin Creative kicked off Phase II of the project with the project team and began survey efforts.
Next Month’s Milestones: Ross+Luthin Creative will assist with Phase I Construction Administration efforts and submit the Phase II Schematic Design set for review. The Board of Trustees will review the Phase I construction contract for approval.
February 2022
Past Month’s Accomplishments: Ross+Luthin Creative submitted the Phase I –95% Construction Documentation set for final review. The Bid Posting was released on PlanetBids.
Next Month’s Milestones: Ross+Luthin Creative will submit the Phase I 100% construction documentation set to release in the final bid addenda. The virtual bid walk will be held and bids will be due. Phase II scope of work will commence.
